About us

🎈 Kids grow fast — sometimes faster than their clothes can keep up.

Many children outgrow their clothes in just 3–6 months, especially during early childhood. At the same time, millions of tons of clothing end up in landfills every year, even though many items are still perfectly wearable.

Loop-a-Hoop was created with a simple idea: extend the life of kids’ clothing while making it more affordable for families.

Helping pre-loved clothes find a new home can help reduce waste, support local families, and keep useful items circulating in our community instead of ending up in landfills.

🛍️ All items in the shop come from local Calgary families.

We carefully select items and do our best to curate pieces that are in like-new or excellent condition. However, we also believe that clothing that still has life left shouldn’t go to waste.

When an item shows more wear but can still be used, we work on cleaning or repairing what we can and list it in our Clearance section.

Nothing is wasted if it can still serve a family.

Additionally, to make the impact even stronger, all profits from clearance sales are donated to local non-profits.

Transparency

When buying second-hand clothing, trust matters. We aim to be clear and transparent about the condition of every item, so you know exactly what you’re purchasing. Any notable wear or flaws are disclosed whenever possible.

Our goal is simple: no surprises when your order arrives.

How it works

Items are sourced locally through community submissions, direct purchases from Calgary families, and local marketplaces.

Customers can choose between local delivery or free pickup for Calgary area, or Canada post locations outside of our focus area.

Local store, local benefits

This store focuses on serving families in Calgary and nearby communities. Which means that we curated from local inventory, with simple and transparent pricing.

This allows us to create a simpler, more personal shopping experience for families in our community.

Support local community

This project is about more than clothing. When we extend the life of children’s clothing, we help reduce textile waste, make kids clothing more affordable, and support local families.

Profits from clearance sales are donated to Mamas for Mamas Calgary, a charity that supports mothers and families facing hardship.

Small actions can create meaningful impact when communities support each other.

Who is behind the store

Hi, I’m Carol.

I’m a mom who believes that kids’ clothing should be affordable, practical, and accessible to families.

I also believe money should circulate within the community. Families can earn payouts for clothing their children no longer use, while other families can buy quality items at accessible prices. I believe all that helps me create something with a real purpose.

We all know how much parents — especially moms — rely on support systems. And we also know many families don’t have those supports. That’s why supporting organizations like Mamas for Mamas matters so much to me.
